The XO was promoted to LTJG! Way to go LTJG Pusey!

We had another promotion. Keep the good work SN Arnold.

NOTES

ALL cadets must report on Saturday with an inspection appropriate haircut or bun.  If the hair cut is not
inspection appropriate, they will be given a very short buzz cut.  It will not be stylish, just simply buzzed
with a guard.  Females get those buns tight and flyaway free or you will find yourself doing it until you can’t
anymore or choose to get it cut.

Bring your Dress Whites on Saturday with ALL items – long black socks (not short!), black leather shoes,
trousers, jumper, ribbons and medals, name tag, belt, NEW white CREW neck t-shirt and cover.

Saturday Lunch: Bring a sack lunch as the Galley is being remodeled.

Sunday Lunch – Potluck, meat will be provided, cadets should bring the following based on the first letter
in their last name (keep in mind we will have over 40 people eating)
A – F Drinks (ideas: Water, Sports Drinks, Soda, Juice, Tea)
G – M Dessert (ideas: Cookies, Cake, Fruit, Pudding)
N – Z Side dish (ideas: Pasta salad, Chips, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans)

Bring Hydration and bug spray for the sand gnats.

New cadets who were not issued uniforms yet may wear jeans or PT gear based on the weather
conditions.

Cadets who wish to take exams notify the Training Officer prior to drill weekend.

Petty Officers McAvay and Pusey make First Class!

posted Aug 22, 2011 3:36 PM by Todd Dunn

The Executive Director of the Sea Cadets appointed PO1 McAvay and PO1 Pusey to the rate of Petty Officer First Class this month.  This two are also our Leading and Assistant Leading Petty Officers for Manatee Division.

Both have worked hard for this honor.

They had to Staff a Sea Cadet Recruit Training, Take a Petty Officer Exam, do official US Navy correspondence courses, and be recommended by their Commanding Officer.

Manatee Division is proud of these to Cadet leaders!

Cadet finished his BMRs within 30 days of joining!

posted Jun 20, 2011 12:26 PM by Todd Dunn

SR Frazier heard that the only "shortcut" in Sea Cadets is to get his BMRs done in 90 days.  Well, he got started and had them finished by the next drill!

Local Organizations Give to Manatee Division!

posted May 10, 2011 11:11 AM by Todd Dunn

Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union donated a check for $1500 to Manatee Division to help with Summer Tuitions for Trainings and to help with the new Navy Working Uniform (NWU) uniform conversion.

Also, the VFW in Beverly Hills donated $200 to help 2 cadets get into new uniforms.

We thank these great organizations for their assistance.
