So you think you want to join the Sea Cadets?

This describes some of the pre-qualifications to help you decide. This just gives you a general overview of the basic eligibility requirements, as well as the next step.

  • Must be a U. S. Citizen
  • Minimum age of 10 years old
  • Maximum age of 17 years old
  • Must complete a medical examination by a physician on the appropriate form
  • Must be enrolled in school/home schooled and have/maintain a satisfactory scholastic standing of 2.0
  • Must have a good moral character and be free of any criminal conviction
  • Must be unmarried and remain unmarried to be enrolled
